The committee noted the updated information in relation to curriculum KPIs and the actions being taken to improve academic performance.
349 Progress Report on Quality Improvement Plan 2022/23

The governors noted the progress against the 2022/23 Quality Improvement Plan.
349 Employer Engagement Strategy
The Assistant Principal Curriculum Planning and Partnerships presented the report to the committee and highlighted the desire to clearly link the stakeholder engagement strategy back to the strategic plan which is still in development.
A committee member queried if we had spoken to key stakeholders about the proposals and it was confirmed this had not happened yet but there was an intention to have industry forums and wider discussions. A committee member queried if engagement with stakeholders could identify individuals who may wish to come out of industry and move into teaching roles to resolve the staff recruitment issued previously discussed and this was acknowledged. It was noted that relationships with employers were being developed and that this was growing.
The committee noted the current draft of the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.
350 Minutes of Higher Education Group
The Committee noted the minutes of the Higher Education Group held in January 2023.
351 Any Other Business
An update on teacher training was provided by the Assistant Principal Curriculum Planning and Partnerships and it was highlighted that the College was looking at being able to do this through the College’s own levy.
An update was provided on an animal management open day that had been very positive.
The chair thanked the committee for a positive discussion on the agenda items.
