Great Pass Rates. Great Grades. Great University Destinations. A Great Sixth Form!
For the past eight years, ED6 students studying 3 A-levels or more have achieved a 99-100% pass rate on their exams.
- We are the region's best-performing sixth form centre, with our students achieving a 99-100% pass rate on their exams for the past 8 years (2016 to 2023, students taking 3 or more A-levels).
- In 2023, a massive 22.4% of our students' grades were A*-A grades, 37.2% were A*-B grades and 57.9 were A*-C grades.
- The list of universities that ED6 students have recently progressed to is impressive, to say the least. It includes prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Imperial College London and Newcastle.
- We were ranked as the best college in the whole country for the progression students make from GCSE to A-Level in 2018 - something we are extremely proud of. This demonstrates that students of ED6 make more progress than what is expected of them based on their GCSE results than anywhere else in the country - this means that ED6 has a proven track record of boosting academic results.
- Smaller class sizes - we keep our classes smaller than other providers, ensuring that learners don't feel excluded and get direct tuition from our teaching staff.
On top of this, ED6 students get all the benefits of East Durham College, including our modern Peterlee campus, on-site Starbucks and completely FREE travel to and from college thanks to our partnership with Arriva North East buses.
