Our stunning £36m build at our Peterlee Campus is a fantastic venue for a huge range of events, meetings and conferences. Excitingly part of the new building has been specifically designed to offer state-of-the-art conference rooms and facilities. The campus is conveniently located less than half a mile off the A19 and provides a great venue centrally in the North East.
In addition, East Durham College can also offer its Houghall Campus as a fantastic location for a wide variety of large outdoor events. Houghall is situated on the outskirts of picturesque Durham City, just off the A1. At EDC, we have a long-standing relationship with a wide variety of amateur theatre production companies, as well as other companies who regularly use our theatre to host events.
About the Lubetkin Theatre
East Durham College operates the only dedicated theatre in the East Durham area, and it's completely open to the public to hire for external events.
We're located just off the A19 in Peterlee, within easy access from the surrounding North East.
The theatre is fully configurable to your needs. Whether you're performing a pantomime or a dramatic play, screening a film, hosting an event, hosting an awards ceremony or just want to demonstrate a product to a wide group of people, the Lubetkin theatre is perfect for the job.
You can expect everything you need from the theatre, including:
- 220 seat capacity - all seats can be removed and folded away as needed, should you wish to have the floor free for an event too
- State-of-the-art audio and lighting equipment

At EDC, we have some of the best sport facilities available in our region.
We have two sites, each with their own sport facilities. These sites are our main campus, found at Willerby Grove in Peterlee and our specialist land-based college, found at Houghall on the outskirts of Durham.
