Arboriculture

At East Durham College, we have recently expanded our wide apprenticeship offer to include arboriculture, also more commonly known as tree surgery.

We work closely with tree surgery companies in our region to provide arboriculture apprenticeship opportunities - so if you're looking for a career outdoors and love working with your hands, a career in arb could be for you!

For National Apprenticeship week, Amey, a leading infrastructure services and engineering company who work with East Durham College, spoke to two of their Arborist apprentices about their experiences of working with Amey.

Why Consider an Arb Apprenticeship?

With constantly growing demand for skilled arborists to keep the countries' trees in great shape, there's never been a better time to consider getting into the industry.

An apprenticeship could be that first step you take to creating an amazing, rewarding career for yourself. Better still, you'll be earning while you're learning!

You'll be working alongside experienced tree surgeons who will be responsible for your training and development, supported by East Durham College to offer further training with our top-notch arb team at our Houghall campus in Durham.
