Scott Bullock officially took up his position as Principal and CEO of East Durham College on Monday 2nd Sept 2024], following the announcement of his appointment in May.
Scott brings a wealth of experience gained within the Further Education (FE) sector over a 25-year period and joins East Durham College at an exciting time of growth and development.
During his career in FE, Scott has specialised in quality improvement, teaching and learning and curriculum operations, as well as leading professional services functions of Curriculum Information Services and Exams. This included a role at New College Durham, with a senior leadership remit for quality and performance management, before joining Newcastle College.
He also has experience as an Ofsted Inspector, an EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Excellence Assessor, a member of the T Level qualifications design panel and represented Newcastle College Group on the Association of Colleges (AoC) National Policy Group for Quality and Accountability.
Scott joined Newcastle College in August 2016 as Vice Principal of Curriculum and Quality, progressing to Deputy Principal and then Principal in 2020.
Scott said: “‘I’m extremely proud and excited to be starting my new role at East Durham College and getting to know the teams across our three campuses. I’m particularly looking forward to welcoming our new and returning students as they start their courses in September.
“I’m passionate about helping to create a brilliant student experience and supporting students to develop their skills and talents.
“We will continue to build on our successes as we serve our community and contribute to the development of skills across the North East.”
