East Durham College is delighted to announce it will be offering an extended range of additional T Levels from September 2023, building on those already due to start this September (2022).
Starting from September 2023, school leavers who have gained five or more GCSE passes at grade 9 to 4, will be able to sign up for:
- Agriculture, Land Management and Production (at Houghall campus)
- Animal Care and Management (at Houghall)
- Catering (at Peterlee campus)
- Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction (at The Technical Academy)
- Digital Business Services (at The Technical Academy)
- Hairdressing, Barbering and Beauty Therapy (at Peterlee campus)
- Media, Broadcast and Production (at Peterlee campus)
Those already confirmed to start from September 2022 are:
- Building Services Engineering for Construction: Specialising in Electrotechnical Engineering or Plumbing and Heating Engineering
- Digital Production, Design and Development
- Early Years Education and Childcare
- Engineering, Manufacturing Processing and Control: Specialising in Fitting and Assembly Technologies or Fabrication and Welding Technologies
- Health
- Science
- Maintenance Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing - Light & Electric Motor Vehicle Pathway
Assistance Principal Jacky Owen said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be able to announce this exciting expansion plan to our T Level offer. This will bring the list of T Level options at East Durham College to 14 from September 2023.
"T Levels are exciting new level 3 qualifications for school leavers. They have been developed with vital input from employers, across the relevant sectors, and provide a minimum of 9-weeks working with an employer on an industry placement giving students a fantastic opportunity to leave college work-ready or to progress onto further study at university if they wish."
During the 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of occupations relevant to the T Level they take.
