East Durham Technical College have three exciting opportunities available right now to study a T Level qualification in Automotive studies alongside The Pulman Group.
T Levels are a two-year Level 3 technical course which is equivalent to three A levels but combines classroom-based learning with a strong element of on-the-job training of at least 315 hours. Students will spend 80% of their time in the classroom and 20% on the job with The Pulman Group to learn what a real career is like.
The Pulman Group represent Volkswagen, SEAT and ŠKODA, and have sites in Durham, Sunderland & Cramlington.
The qualification will help students gain an overview of the engineering and Motor Vehicle industry, and will cover topics such as:
- Maintenance, installation and repair requirements
- Fault detection and diagnosis
- Isolation and resolution methods
- Communication for maintenance, installation and repair activities
- Light and electric vehicles.
The 2-year placement at The Pulman Group which will be alongside studies, working in one of their professional Motor Dealerships in either Durham or Sunderland two days a week will provide students with:
- A commitment to training and development
- Have staff on hand who can act as a mentor
- The chance to gain potential future employment
