Looking for advice on what’s the right career for you? Whether you’ve got a bit of an idea of what you’re interested in or completely unsure, East Durham College’s careers advice drop-in sessions are the perfect way to find out your career aims and what potential jobs could be available!
Careers Advice one-to-one sessions are exactly like they sound. You’ll sit down with one of our friendly careers team and discuss your future career. If it sounds a bit scary, don’t worry, it isn’t! We are here to help you and there’s nothing to be embarrassed about if you turn up to your session with no idea what you want to do.
Our careers advisor will sit with you and work out exactly what your interests are, what potential courses you could take, and what routes you could take after college finishes. Whether that’s going straight into full-time employment, finding an apprenticeship in something you’re passionate about or even going on to university for further study, we’ll help you figure it out.
You can expect the following from your careers session:
- Draw out your priorities, values, and expectations
- Challenge your motivations
- Help you reflect on what you’ve already done
- Help you develop understanding of chosen paths
- Help to weigh up options
- Make suggestions about potential resources, research or further information that might be useful
- Provide answers to some straight-forward questions

You don’t even need to be a current student at the college. When we say everyone, we mean everyone!
