At Positive Steps, your child's development is at the heart of what we do. That's why we follow a curriculum designed to get the best out of your child during their time with us.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum
At Positive Steps, we follow the EYFS curriculum.
This is a statutory framework that sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that the children in their care learn and develop well, stay safe and are kept healthy.
The EYFS promotes partnership working between practitioners and families to ensure the best start possible for children. It seeks to make sure that every child makes good progress and has the opportunity to gain a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities. These opportunities and experiences must take into account individual children's needs and interests.
We use Tapestry to document our children's learning. This is a private online journal that parents can also add to.
Each term we will provide a summary about your child's learning, development and next steps.
2 Year Checks
When a child is aged between two and three, we will review their progress and provide you with a short written summary of their development.
We will also arrange their 2 year check to be carried out with the Health visitor at nursery.
